Q:  I have job offers in both Arizona and Texas and will probably relocate within the next few months.  My current employer's policy is an HMO, and they don't have any providers where I want to move.  Will COBRA still be available to me in my new state?

A:  If your employer’s policy is an HMO or PPO and there are no network providers where you move, your employer is required to offer you an alternative policy.  The alternative policy must be made available by the date you relocate or later, the 1st day of the next month you request the alternative policy.
