Q:  My husband started his job 4 months ago and there was a 90 day waiting period before insurance would become effective. Our insurance came into effect on April 1 2008. My husband quit his job for a better one on April 4,2008. Will we qualify for cobra even though we only had insurance for a few days before he quit because he has another 90 days before health insurance will start at the new job.

A: If the employer he just left has more than 20 employees, they must offer you COBRA continuation coverage as long as you were enrolled in their group health plan.  If you are interested in a more affordable Alternative to COBRA, Click Here for more information.
