Q:  My COBRA was canceled on Feb. 29, 2008.   How can I reinstate it?

A:  Usually when your COBRA has been canceled you can not get it reinstated.  If you have exhausted the 18 months of continuation then it can not be extended or reinstated unless you lve in a state that offers a mini-COBRA  If it canceled because your payment wasn’t received by the due date or during the 30 day grace period, your previous employer doesn’t have to accpet  your late payment.   If you have lost your opportunity for insurance with your past employer and you may qualify for an affordable Alternative policy.
