Q: I am currently employed by a company where I have Kaiser for my medical insurance. If I were to quit my job, would I be able to apply for COBRA and still maintain my Kaiser membership? I am unfamiliar with how all of this works.

A:  COBRA is a continuation of an employer’s group plan.  So, you would be able to keep the same coverage and benefits you had before the qualifying event.  Your employer or their COBRA plan administrator has up to 45 days to mail you the COBRA election form from your last day of benefits. Once you elect COBRA your insurance.
