Q:  How long after your termination does the employer have before they must provide you with COBRA information?

A:  Your employer (assuming they have more than 20 employees) has a total of 45 days from the qualifying event to get your COBRA notification to you.  From the date that you get your notification, you have 60 days to elect coverage. Your coverage will back date so there will be no lapse, as soon as you sign up and make your first premium payment.
