Q:  I applied for COBRA in March 2008, but I haven't paid for the coverage because it was too expensive. I would like to obtain my account info so that I can cancel it for good and start a new program.

A:  If you applied for your COBRA coverage in March of 2008 and have not made a payment, chances are your coverage has already been cancelled.  You should check on the status of your coverage either way by contacting your COBRA administrator or your previous employer’s human resources department.

A lot of people I talk to sign up for a COBRA alternative plan which is usually a much more affordable insurance option, click here for more information.
