Q: i made a payment on dec 27 for the december bill i was late then also late on january payment ( due on jan 1 ) i never got a statement for that month i have constantly contacted my previous employer to change my address they have failed to cooperate so my bill is some times 10 - 15 days late the postal service would be the problem on december but in january i never got a bill at and i was admitted to the hospital on jan 17 18 and 19 20 when i got home i never got a bill i now find i have been terminated thru no fault of my own, the employe,r holidays, and the postal service along with my recovery has left me without insurance could i be reinstated thank you ( a victum of circumstances )
A: This is something you will need to work through with your employer since it was a continuation of the group health insurance. They may use a Cobra Administrator and you will need to find out who it was and explain your situation. Most of the time, if you are late with Cobra payments, they are not able to reinstate the coverage. You will be responsible for any incurred bills. Last resort is contacting the Department of Labor. 866-487-2365.
