Q:  My daughter, who is over 25, just graduated in December. She paid for insurance -- full coverage -- through the college even though she attended part time during the fall 2008 semester. She was recently told by her school that she could not get COBRA because, although she was full time in the spring 2008 term, she was part time in the fall. Is this correct?

A:  Cobra is a federal law that offers a continuation of coverage through a previous employers group plan.  Since your daughter was on a student health plan through a college, the plan is not subject to follow the federal COBRA laws.  Your daughter should look for her own individual coverage.
