*The policy is a short term policy, lasting anywhere from 30 days up to 12 months of medical coverage.
*It is generally about a third of the cost of the group health plan offered to you by the employer.
*The reason why it can be offered to you at a lower cost is because it will not cover preexisting medical conditions.
*What the alternative will cover is any NEW or unexpected illness or injury.
*Since this policy is an individual plan, you have the ability to choose any doctor or hospital.
*You also have a lifetime max. of $1 million dollars.
