Q:  My husband has COBRA because he became disabled and is no longer able to work, he has not been approved for disability yet, and I just came across some information about Cobra stating that the government will pay up to 65% of his insurance according to the new stimulus act, and I was wondering is this already deducted, from his plan now, or is it something he has to sign up for, and if so how do we go about doing that. Any information will be helpful. Thank You.

A:  For information on the stimulus package and how it will affect your COBRA coverage, you should contact the Federal Department of Labor, they regulate the COBRA law.  The department of labor’s phone number is 866-444-3272 or visit their website at www.dol.gov
