Q:  I will be eligable for Medicare in 7 months. My COBRA 18 months has expired.  Can I remain on COBRA for the next 7 months?

A:  Unfortunately, you can not remain on COBRA unless there is a new "qualifying event".   However, you may be eligible to convert your COBRA coverage to an individual policy from your insurance company if they offer an individual policy.  You have 30 days from the termination date of COBRA coverage to request this individual policy.
