Q:My 22 year old son is a full time student. School is dropping him due to inability to return for 2nd quarter due to health reasons. With out being a full time student he no longer is eligible to stay on my insurance at work. Can he still receive coverage under COBRA?
A:Due to the fact that your son is losing status on your health plan due to not being a full time student, he would be eligible for Cobra coverage. He would be entitled up to 36 months and you would need to contact your employer and ask for a Cobra packet to get him enrolled and taken care of.
