Q:I am interested in finding continuation of our current coverage when we move. We are currently trying to conceive. My husband's company has fewer than 20 employees. Are they required to provide any continuation of our group coverage? Are there alternatives?
A:Due to the fact that your husbands company has fewer than 20 employees, I don’t think that Cobra is going to be an option. If you are looking for something short term, I would be more than happy to assist you in that; however our plans do not cover pre-existing conditions. If you feel you need to continue your same coverage you had, you are going to need to contact your State Department of Insurance to see if there is anything they can offer you.
