Q:  I lost my job in January of 2009 and was offered cobra insurance by my former employer. Because of some on going medical problems I used part of my life savings to pay for in advance 6 months premium. Under the new stimulus Cobra premium assistance program, will I get a refund for over payment of the 6-month premium?

A:  Due to the fact that you over paid possibly due to the fact that you may be eligible for the stimulus/reduction, to my understanding you may be eligible to get refunded.  To verify this information though, please contact the Federal Department of Labor at 866-444-3272.  They are who oversee the Cobra law and can verify if you are eligible if you would get a refund.
