Q:  I received the salaried involuntary separation plan within the Cobra eligibility in January, 2009. With 32 years of service, I can get health insurance through my retirement plan. Am I eligible for Cobra insurance?

A:  When your retirement plan runs out or expires, I believe from there you are eligible for Cobra continuation coverage.  I would clarify with your previous company that they haven’t already signed you up or that you haven’t been put on Cobra prior to your retirement plan starting.  For more clarification regarding your Cobra coverage I would talk with your previous employers HR department or their Cobra administrator for more details.
