Q:  If I qualify for Medicare can I apply for cobra instead?

A:  If you are eligible for Medicare its often times easier to apply when you are 65 than to go back at a later date and try to apply.  To my knowledge I am not sure if you can be on Medicare and Cobra at the same time.  To verify that information I am going to give you the Department of Labors website, they oversee the Cobra law, and you can double check that information there.  The website is www.dol.gov
