Q:  Cobra was not offered by my company! When they went bankrupt and another company took over my husband worked for them for 2 weeks and was let go are we eligible for cobra?

A:  If your husband was on the group health plan when he was working, the company has more than 20 employees, and there is still a group health plan in force.  Than Cobra should be an option.  If you feel that your rights are not being met, and that you should be offered Cobra and you were not, visit the Department of Labor’s website at www.dol.gov they are who oversee the Cobra law.  They may be able to give you more answers as to what recourse you may have.
