Q:I filled up an application online to continue coverage because I couldn’t find my package from the employer. Is that okay?
A:If you signed up for an alternative plan online through www.CobraInsurance.com those are alternative plans, it’s okay as long as you are eligible.However, those plans are not going to be the same coverage as you had when you were working and that you would have if you had applied for Cobra. If you feel that you signed up for the wrong plan, or want to verify your coverage, feel free to call 877-279-7959, which is the company that offers the Alternative plans. If you want to verify your Cobra covearage, you need to call your previous employers HR department or speak with your Cobra administator.
