Q:  My husband retired in Jan at age 60. I was on Medicare, plus his insurnace group was my primary. Because I am on Medicare they would not cover me anymore. Both insurances say the other is primary. Can you please tell me which one is correct? I have been told Medicare is. Thank you

A:  Once you are entitled to Medicare you are no longer allowed to continue on the employer’s group health plan(COBRA). If you have a spouse or any dependants, they may take advantage of COBRA, but you will not. You are not able to have both Medicare and COBRA.
