Q:How does COBRA work if your employees were employed through a leasing company and your company went under, therefore the client agreement with the leasing company was terminated. Are employees still covered under COBRA? I know that if a company claims bankruptcy, they are not. But, since they are leased employees, are they? Need this answer ASAP if at all possible.
A:If the company you work for cancels the group health plan, than Cobra is not an option. To be eligible for Cobra, the company needs to have more than 20 employees as well as a group health plan for the remaining employees. Therefore, if the company cancelled the plan and no one is eligible for health insurance Cobra would not be an option.
If you would like to view a plan that offers you major medical coverage for a short period of time until you find another group health plan or individual insurance that would cover all new illness and all new injury simply click the following web link:http://www.quoteintelligence.com/launch.aspx?refnumber=000006972-026-972&roi=faq
