Q:  The Episcopal Church Medical Trust is the medical insurer for my aunt, a representative told me that because they are a church and non-profit the 65% decrease from the Stimulus package doesn't apply. Can you tell me if this is correct and what my options are? How can I find out if the Church plan qualifies for state continuation?

A:  My recommendation would be to verify that information with the Department of Labor; they are the ones who oversee the Cobra law. They may be able to clarify that information for you; you can visit the website at www.dol.gov/COBRA
