Q:I am leaving full time job for a one year masters program in Europe. I am covered by an insurance plan that my employer provides however I am leaving to attend a one year masters program in Europe. They require students from abroad to have insurance. Would I be eligible to apply for the COBRA insurance? Please let me know. Thank you
A:I don’t believe your Cobra coverage would cover you out of the United States; Cobra is the same coverage you have now when you are working. If that coverage does not cover you when you leave the US than Cobra is not an option. If you would like travel insurance which would give you medical coverage while you are in Europe give me a call and we can go over your options at 877-279-7959 ex 219
