Q:  My current job just dropped my insurance because I went below the required 34.5 hours for 2 weeks. They said that I cannot get it back for 3 months. I need to continue insurance during that time laps. Can I use the COBRA Insurance to do that?

 

A:  You can use Cobra; Cobra is a federal law that allows you to continue your group health insurance after you have lost your insurance.  You would have to talk with your employer and ask them for the packet to enroll into the Cobra coverage.

Qualifying Events for Employees:

Voluntary or involuntary termination of employment for reasons other than gross misconduct Reduction in the number of hours of employment
