Q:The Company I worked for and have my Cobra insurance thru is closing (no longer in business). Does my Cobra coverage stop? They are closing as of August 1, 2009. Are there any alternatives if I lose my Cobra coverage?
A:If the company you have your Cobra through is closing its doors and cancelling their group health plan, than unfortunately your Cobra coverage will end as well.Due to the fact that since there is no longer a group health plan, than you have no plan to continue on.You can try talking with your insurance carrier to see if you can take out something on your own on an individual basis.
If you are a health individual and are looking for another job and would like something in the interim until you find another group health plan, I may be able to offer you an alternative.Below is a link you can click on and check out to see if you meet the requirements and if you are eligible. If you have any problems or questions you can call me directly at 877-279-7959 ex 219
