Q:  If my husband goes out of work on Workman comp for a back issue. Does he have to get Cobra can he keep his health insurance through work? He will go back to his job when back is better.

A:  If the employer is not going to cover him when he is on workman’s comp, he could enroll into Cobra until he goes back to work.  You would need to speak with his employer to verify what they are going to do with his insurance.  If they are going to keep him on the group plan or if he needs to enroll into Cobra and pay for the premiums on his own until he is able to go back to work.
