Q:  I was involuntarily terminated on 4/27/09 and was denied for unemployment insurance because of misconduct on the job. I appealed this decision and won the appeal on 7/14/09. I understand that COBRA denies coverage because of this charge. Since the decision by unemployment was overturned can I now qualify for COBRA and the subsidy?

A:  We are a company that offers Cobra information, due to the fact that this is a more legal question, I don’t want to give legal advice and lead you in the wrong direction.  I am going to give you the Department of Labors phone number; they oversee the Cobra law and may be able to better inform you of your eligibility.  The number to reach them is 866-444-3272.
