Q: I WORKED AT A COMPANY AND IT HAS WENT OUT OF BUSSINESS, YOU WERE SUPPOSED TO HAVE SENT ME A FORM TO TAKE OUT ON COBRA WHICH I HAVE NEVER RECEIVED. PLEASE GET THIS FORM TO ME ASAP BEFORE MY DEAD LINE IS UP. THANK YOU VERY MUCH
A: We are a provider of Cobra information and Alternative Solutions. We are not affiliated with Cobra. Cobra is NOT a company, but a federal law that allows you to continue on the previous employer’s group health insurance plan. If you need to elect Cobra or are finding out more information regarding your Cobra Benefits, you must contact your employer. They send out a packet for you to continue (or extend) your current health coverage.
If your company closed and is no longer in business, than Cobra is not an option to you. Cobra is a federal law that allows you to continue your same insurance on the group health plan through a past employer. But if there is no longer a group health plans than Cobra isn’t an option.
