Q:  I have a question on Subsidy. Our dental plan offers enhanced benefits after 1 yr. Case: Employee on Dental, left after 6 mos. with our Company. Termed 12/18/08 but did not take Cobra until Subsidy as of 3/1/09. Does she start all over again, give her credit for 6 months she worked, or count the 2 month break toward her 1 yr?

 

A:  Due to the circumstances, I don’t want to give you false information.  We are a company that offers alternative plans and knows general Cobra information, however, this question I am unsure of.  If you call the Department of Labor or visit www.dol.gov/COBRA you may be able to find out that information.  As well as you can try to speak with your benefits or 3rd party Cobra administrator and see if they can give you the information that you need.
