Q:I want to extend my existing Cobra by one month to cover the gap until I begin Medicare Dec. 1, 2009. Can I do that?
A:As far as extending your COBRA coverage I do not believe you can, you would have to speak with your COBRA administrator to verify that but once you have used up your 18 months I don’t believe you can go on it any longer.Depending if you have a qualifying event but your COBRA administrator would be able to better explain that to you.
