Q:I am 21 weeks pregnant & living in North Carolina.I have insurance through my employer, in December I plan on taking a leave of absence & travel to San Diego to give birth & be around family. Can I apply for Cobra insurance that will cover me and my baby in California??
A:Cobra is a continuation of the same insurance you have as you do now while working. You need to find out if you went to San Diego that you would have providers there that your Insurance will cover.I recommend that you speak with your Insurance carrier, as well as with your employer to verify your coverage and get information about your Cobra coverage.
