Q:  I am having a problem with my x-employer.. I was laid off in June and I enrolled in the cobra plan.. I have made all my premium payments and am up to date.  I had a doctor’s appt last week and found out that my x-employer cancelled my health insurance so I could not see the doctor or pick up my prescriptions. Can you help me out please? The hr office won’t answer my calls.

A:  As far as your Cobra coverage you need to speak with your past employer, they are who handles your Cobra benefits.  If you can ask them for your Cobra administrator’s phone number, the person handling your Cobra coverage.  As well as if you don’t feel that your rights are being met, you could always talk to the Department of Labor they oversee the Cobra law. 866-444-3272
