Q:  I read that "After 1/1/1999, employees who are 60 years or older when they become eligible for Cal-COBRA and have worked for the employer for at least five years may continue their coverage even after Cal-COBRA until they turn 65." I have received Federal COBRA since July 2009, when I was 61 after working for a company in California over 14 years. My Federal COBRA ends Dec 2009. Can I go on Cal-COBRA after the Federal-COBRA expires until I turn 65?

A:  To find out information on Cal Cobra you need to call them directly, they will be able to let you know your eligibility with the coverage.  The number to call is 213-897-8921
