Q:  I live in Illinois and I just turned 63. My Cobra benefits run out in August. Are there any plans to extend the time that Cobra can be in effect for those people who have been out of work beyond 18 months? Unemployment benefits have been extended but I have not heard anything about Cobra coverage.

A:  To my understanding, Cobra is not extending.  I don’t believe you can extend your Cobra coverage if you have used all 18 months you most likely are going to have to find your own individual plan or find employment that offers Insurance.  To get an individual plan quote for Major Medical please feel free to call 877-279-7959 x 206 to get a quote.
