Q:  I was fired for fighting, but no punches were exchanged, I HAVE NOT GOT ANYTHING FROM THE COMPANY TIME of FIRE ON 0-14-2009

A:  If you were fired and they called it Gross Misconduct they do not have to offer you Cobra.  You can read about your Cobra rights at www.dol.gov/COBRA it will explain when they have to offer you a continuation of your benefits and when they do not.  To my understanding due to the situation they may have said gross misconduct therefore they wouldn’t supply you with information, you may have to find a job that offers insurance or get your own individual health plan.
