Q:  I will be losing my job on 12/31/09. They will not be renewing the contract.  Will I be eligible for the stimulus $ for my upcoming Cobra plan. The organization has more than 20 employees. I am eligible for their Cobra plan. Thanks!

A:  If you are being involuntarily terminated you may be eligible for the reduction. If you are eligible for Medicare or a spouses insurance than you are NOT eligible for the reduction of your Cobra.  There are other requirements as well that make you eligible, but when you receive your Cobra packet from your past employer it will have all that information in there if you are going to be receiving the reduced Cobra premium.  You can also go to www.dol.gov/COBRA
