Q: Who do I call or go to if my previous employer states that their Kaiser Insurance has been cancelled, there fore my benefits on COBRA are also now cancelled even though I have been paying my premiums and I have been given the subsidy by the Federal Government. I have been on Cobra 6 months, please help me.
A: If your past employer cancels their group health plan, than COBRA would not longer be an option. If they cancel the group health plan all together there is nothing for you to continue on. If they are changing Insurance carriers than your COBRA should have the option to switch as well to whatever they are offering the still employed employees. You could try calling your State Department of Insurance to see if they have some sort of mini-COBRA through the State, or you can look into your own individual coverage.
