Q:My wife has the Insurance from her job; she wants to leave work to take care of our new born baby for the first year. Would we be able to get COBRA if it’s a voluntary termination?
A:Cobra allows you to continue your benefits after you leave a position, either voluntarily or involuntarily. There has to be more than 20 employees and a group health plan still in force, if your wife wants to continue her benefits through Cobra, she needs to get a Cobra packet from her HR Department.
