Q:  I need to know what is considered temporary coverage.  Please clarify this, in view of their being no pre-existing conditions coverage provided under temporary coverage.  I am thinking about quitting my job and going onto Cobra until I turn 65 in March of 2011.  My husband will also need to go onto Cobra since he is on my group plan now.

A:  A short term/Temporary plan is something that will cover you for all new illness and all new injury (http://www.quoteintelligence.com/launch.aspx?refnumber=000006972-026-972) you can be on it for a period of times for example between jobs.  Cobra is a continuation of benefits you had through an employer.  So if your husband quits his job, he can continue his coverage through them.  He needs to talk to his HR Department to find out his eligibility, cost and how to enroll etc.
