Q:  Why did my prior employer not offer me COBRA insurance when they fired me?

A:  There could be multiple reasons, to find out exactly why I would recommend calling them or calling the HR Department and finding out.  Some of the reasons could be that your company had less than 20 employees, so Cobra isn’t an option.  If you were fired, if it was due to gross misconduct they do not have to offer Cobra to you.  It’s possible that if you were fired recently, maybe you just haven’t received your Cobra information in the mail yet.  But I would recommend calling to find out exactly the reasoning or if you should be eligible.
