Q:I enrolled through ******** Cobra after losing my job. But was able to get a much better deal elsewhere. Even though I've called twice in the last 2 months to cancel, I am now being told I have to cancel in writing. What is the address to terminate & what all do I say?

A: COBRA is not an insurance company.

COBRA is a federal law that requires employers with 20 or more employees to offer the continuation of the same group health care coverage after you've voluntarily or involuntarily left your job, or have had your work hours reduced.

You would need to contact the COBRA Administrator for your previous employer to find out what information they need to see on a cancellation letter.
