Q: I have been laid off as of 8/07/07 due to company closure --not a bankruptcy--several thousand employees. Our insurance coverage is in force until 8/10/07 and the employer says they are not offering or required to offer COBRA. Is this possible?
A: If an employer closes their doors and no longer has a group health insurance policy for any of their employees, COBRA continuation would not be available to you.
If you are a healthy person who does not live in NY, NJ, MA, or VT and would be interested in a lower cost Alternative to COBRA please Click HereWith this policy you have the ability to choose your deductible: $250, $500, $1000 or $2500.
