Q:  We had COBRA for the last three months of 2003. My husband's former employer will not assist us in finding those records, can you? Thank you.

A: Legally you can request a certificate of credible coverage from your past employer or the insurance company. Your past employer may have hired a third party administrator that helped them with all of the COBRA accounts. You may have to request a phone number for their administrator so they can look up your insurance information.

If your employer is not complying with the federal law, then you should contact the Department of Labor at 1-866-487-2365 or visit their web site at www.dol.gov
