Q:  We are on Cobra until my new employer's coverage is enacted (90 days). We've paid our premium and have now rec'd some bills. How do we go about applying Cobra to these bills? Does the provider file a claim? Do we pay and seek reimbursement? Is there an 80/20 plus deductible plan in place? Please let me know "how it works" once we're enrolled.

A:  COBRA is a continuation of your previous employer health insurance plan.  It is the same policy that you had when you were employed. There is no change to the benefits, it all remains the same.   You would file the claims the same way you did before and send them to the same address.  You should ask the provider to re-file the claims directly to the insurance company.
