Q:  I currently have Cal-COBRA coverage through a former employer. I will be moving to New York and not have an immediate job. Will I be able to transfer Cal-COBRA to New York without going through underwriters?

A: You will be able to continue the Cal-COBRA when you move to another state.  Since it is a continuation of an employer's policy you will not have to re-apply or get a medical examination.  All you need to do is to contact the insurance company and give them your address change and ask for a list of providers in your new state.
