Q:   Is it the law that you have 60 days to elect COBRA? My employer says I only have 30.

A:  Under COBRA law, the employer must give you at least 60 days to elect COBRA from the date the election notice was received or from the date you lose the group health benefits which ever is later.  If you think your employer is not complying with COBRA laws, you should contact the US Department of Labor at 1-866-487-2365.
