Q:  If their is a family on Cobra currently, and they decide to come off Cobra to go on to an individual plan, but one of their children is not insurable on that plan and wouldn’t be accepted, can that one child remain on cobra by herself without the rest of the family being on Cobra?

A:   The employee does not have to continue COBRA coverage for themselves to keep their spouse or dependent children covered under COBRA continuation.  You will be able to continue the COBRA coverage on just your child.  You should contact your previous employer or their plan administrator to remove the rest of the family of off COBRA.
