Q:  My daughter becomes eligible for COBRA under my ex's plan. Once she signs up, will she now become the member with the insurance under her SS# and name or will she still be under my ex's plan?  Do they typically send her new insurance cards with her name & SS# or will she remain listed under his name as policyholder?

A:  COBRA is a continuation of an employer’s group plan.  It is the same policy and same benefits she had prior to the qualifying event.  She should be able to use the same ID cards since there will be no changes to the coverage. The ID card will be re-activated once your COBRA payment is received.
