Q:  I had a PPO with my former employer. I worked 5 years and was laid-off.  I elected COBRA medical and vision, etc. I found another job and was laid-off a month later.  Am I covered by Cobra still for 18 months?

A:  As long as you are making your COBRA payments to your previous employer or their plan administrator you will be able to continue the coverage for up to 18 months.  The 18 month clock started on the last day of group benefits from your previous employer.
