Q:I am currently employed as a temporary employee and getting health insurance benefits. If I were to resign from my job for a permanent position (this company I signed up with does not deal with permanent positions -- only temporary and contractual, which I did not know at the time because the information was withheld), could I be eligible for Cobra benefits until new health insurance was offered to me by a new employer?
A:As long as you are on an employer’s group health plan and they have more than 20 employees, then you should be eligible for COBRA.Your employer must offer the continuation through COBRA.
