Q:  If your employer has 45 days to send you COBRA info and you have another 60 days to decide to take it or not, do you have any coverage during these 105 days?

A:  Only if you elect COBRA by submitting your election form and payment to the previous employer or their plan administrator before the due date will give you coverage.  Once the paperwork has been processed, COBRA continuation coverage is retro-active.  Any medical bills you had during the 105 days will be paid by the insurance company based on the group benefits you had prior to the lay off.
